Isolation (Lock Out Tag Out) Training Course

CONTENT :

Either

US 2401 Shut down, isolate and start up machines and equipment (Level 3, 3 Credits)

or

US 25043 Lockout and reinstate machinery in the workplace Apply operational knowledge of New Zealand's Coordinated Incident Management System (Level 4, 3 Credits)

Either unit standard can be used dependent on which is referenced in the client’s Health and Safety System

This unit standard is intended as a basic training platform for people operating machinery under supervision across a range of industries. The course gives participants a clear understanding of how isolation and de-energization are used to protect safety in the workplace when operating and maintaining machinery and equipment.

It provides participant will an introduction to isolation best practice then introduces them to the organisation’s own policies and isolation practices including permits where appropriate. It includes practical isolation tasks and the completion of organisational documentation.

Equipment :

Client to provide access to suitable equipment or isolation segments for practical exercises.

DURATION :

0.5 days. Two of these courses can be delivered in a standard training day.

NUMBERS :

Up to a maximum of 12 participants.

Location :

NZ Mines Rescue have training facilities available in Huntly and Rapahoe, with delivery available nationwide in the workplace or other suitable training venue.
