Training Course Content
US: 26551 Provide first aid for life threatening conditions L2 C1 and
US: 26552 Demonstrate knowledge of common first aid conditions and how to respond to them L2 C1
Or
US: 6401 Provide first aid L2 C1 and
US: 6402 Provide basic life support L1 C1
NB. US: 6401, 6402 & 6400 Manage first aid in an emergency situation L3 C2 is also available as a combined course but NZQA stipulates delivery and assessment must be a minimum of 12 hours.
Mines has a version of this course that can be provided in a single day if participants complete the 5 hours of pre-course work including the pre-course assessment.
This course can also act as a First Aid refresher for those already holding the US: 26551 & 26552 or 6401 and 6402 (can include 6403). NZQA stipulates “… the learner’s certificate is no older than two years and three months from date of issue, (the course) is a minimum of six hours training and assessment…”.
Refresher unit standards achievements are reloaded as required by NZQA.
Delivery is focused on the types of accidents identified through the client’s regional risk management processes.

| Duration | 1 Day, 8am–4.30pm |
| Numbers | Up to a maximum of 12 participants. Additional numbers must be agreed in advance by Mines Rescue and will incur additional assessment and reporting charges - may increase the length of the training day. |
| Facilities and Equipment | Can be provided nationally. Client to provide a suitable training room for the course. Whiteboard and data show required and space for practical simulations and assessments (data show can be provided by Mines Rescue if required). |
| Compliance with Regulations | Meets the requirements of Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016. |
| Cost | $2300.00 GST excl. Costs include all travel, learning materials, assessment, certificates and reporting. |
